Sam and Collin managed to sneak in the perfect winter Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise elopement right before the world came to a sudden close in March of 2020. I’m not sure any of us knew quite what was about to come, but I sure am glad that we got to celebrate the love of these two at their beautiful Fairmont Lake Louise wedding. The wedding day as full of so much laughter and love. From the start, Sam was the most welcoming and warm bride… the kind of person that makes you feel like you’re her best friend. I sometimes have a hard time thinking that people like her are real.. and especially that I get to have them as my clients! I still get a message every so often from Sam telling me how much she loves their Lake Louise winter wedding photos and it just makes my heart feel so full. The love these two shared for each other was evident when they both started crying at first sight of each other during their intimate ceremony on the frozen Lake Louise, with the Alberta rocky mountains in the background. After the ceremony, we took some photos with their families and then Sam, Collin and I (accompanied by one of my favourite videographers Twisted Film Works) took some photos inside the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louse so we could warm up, drink some champagne and take some photos in this beautiful Banff castle wedding venue. The window light and dark wood combined with the love and non-stop laughter from Sam and Collin were a Lake Louise wedding photographers dreams come true! After we had all warmed our toes and had a glass of bubbles inside the Chateau, we headed outside to capture some snowy wedding photos at Lake Louise that really showed off the beauty of Banff National Park in the winter! A blizzard rolled in right as we were finishing up our portrait session and despite the winter cold, Sam and Collin were more than game for shedding their coats and running hand in hand across the frozen Lake Louise as the snow started to come down around them. So much fun was had and the clients, the Banff wedding vendors and this Lake Louise wedding venue all combined to make for one of the most memorable Lake Louise elopements I have ever photographed! I can't wait to go back.
