Tofino Wedding Photographer | Breeze Photography

Are you looking for a Tofino Wedding photographer?

If you’re looking for a Tofino wedding photographer then you’ve come to the right place! I am a Vancouver Island wedding & elopement photographer based in Victoria BC but I travel the island for photography sessions as often as I can! I have an adventure van named Jupiter that has taken me to some pretty amazing locations on the West Coast and I’ve started collecting a long list of places that would be perfect for your Tofino photography session! I also love to photograph Tofino engagement sessions, Tofino family photography sessions and Tofino couples sessions! I’ll take any excuse to photograph love in one of the most beautiful BC beach wedding locations in BC!

I’ve been a Tofino photographer for almost a decade now. Originally from Alberta, I fell in love with Vancouver Island when I moved out to the West Coast for university. One of the first places I visited was Tofino. Every reading break I would rent a big cabin with all my friends and spend a few days surfing (okay, attempting to surf), hiking (through knee-deep mud to get to a crashed plane) and dancing the night away. Now, Tofino is somewhere that I visit regularly to get my fill of fresh ocean air, beach sunsets and mossy old-growth forests. Tofino is literally paradise and it’s the ultimate destination for couples and families who love the outdoors and adventure.

Situated within the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, Tofino is surrounded by the vast, breathtaking expanse of the UNESCO Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region—a region cherished for its profound biodiversity and environmental culture. The Pacific Rim National Park is located between Tofino and nearby Ucluelet and offers visitors the chance to explore quiet inlets, the old growth rainforest and the rolling waves that embody the vibrancy of this place. Tofino also has an acclaimed food scene and a rich arts and culture community.

No matter what season you visit, Tofino and the nearby coastal village of Ucluelet, has a lot to offer! In the winter you can get your fill of epic storm watching as you cuddle up next to your loved one in your ocean-front cabin, overlooking the crashing waves and watching the fog roll in as a fire burns in your wood stove. Personally, I love winter in Tofino because the crowds are less extensive and the landscape seems more rugged and wild when mother nature is soaking the West Coast in torrential rains. If you’re lucky, you might even get treated to an unexpected day of sun, which feels extra magical in the wintertime. If you’d prefer to try your hand surfing some beginner waves, getting your tan on at the beach and drinking beer around the campfire while you stargaze, then summer is probably the best time to visit Tofino.

Surrounded by snow-covered mountain tops in the distance Tofino is an amazing spot for an adventurous elopement or adventure session in BC. Take a helicopter to the top of one of the nearby peaks for an epic mountain top first look with Atleo Air or charter a private boat ride or float plane to the nearby Hot Springs cove if you want to soak in all the magic that comes with soaking in oceanfront hot springs surrounded by rainforest (I kid you not, this is a real place). End the day with a private beachfront wedding reception at one of the many Tofino wedding venues or plan your own beach picnic at Long Beach, Cox Bay, Mackenzie Beach or Chestermans! There’s really no way to do things wrong in Tofino, just make sure you hire the best Tofino photographer to capture all the memories for you!

If you’re planning to book a Tofino photographer there are a few suggestions I have to make the process a little more fun!

1. Reach out to your Tofino photographer as soon as you book your trip

Tofino is a popular photography destination for a reason, so if you’re hoping to schedule in a photoshoot while you’re there make sure you reach out with as much notice as possible! This is especially important if you’re looking for a Tofino wedding or elopement photographer! If you’re hoping to invite some of your favourite humans to join in your celebrations, make sure you look into accommodation ahead of time! Check out my list of Tofino wedding venues for some ideas!

2. Plan your session for sunrise or sunset to get the most magical light

Tofino is known for its epic sunrises and sunsets. You don’t want to miss capitalizing on the magical light as the sun turns golden and sinks into the Pacific ocean, turning the water into liquid gold as the waves lap gently along the shore. If you happen to love fog as much as I do, morning is the best time to catch it before the sun burns it off. The golden light streaming through the rainforest is another magical sight that can only be found on the West Coast.

3. Plan to get a little dirty/wet/adventurous!

There is nothing more fun about hiring a Tofino photographer than getting a little dirty in the process! I will have you splashing around in the waves, climbing rocks covered in barnacles and running barefoot across the sand as much as you’ll let me!!! If you’re looking for epic Tofino wedding photos or just amazing memories to capture your time visiting Tofino as a couple or family, then you’ll want to really embrace the elements. If it’s raining, I always bring clear umbrellas, but honestly isn’t it more fun to just get soaked and have fun with your loved ones?? The photos will turn out epic no matter what - this is my Tofino photographer promise to you! ;)

4. Soak it all in

I want to make sure you get to see the best that Tofino has to offer. I am happy to suggest locations that are a little off the beaten trail so you can feel what it’s truly like to be in a place as magical as Tofino. I am full of ideas and suggestions so if you need a little inspiration - just shoot me an email through the form below!!!
