Cochrane wedding venue - the crossing at ghost river
Jenn & Myles were married on a hot, smokey summer day at The Crossing at Ghost River, one of my favourite Cochrane wedding venues. The Crossing at Ghost River is situated on a beautiful property just 20 minutes outside of Cochrane. As far as Cochrane wedding venues go, this spot really has it all. There are multiple outdoor ceremony locations for whatever your heart desires and a few different indoor options as a back up in case it rains. For what it’s worth, even the back up locations seem to have amazing light and I think we would been able to get some amazing photos inside too. But we lucked out with a beautiful day so Jenn & Myles chose my favourite ceremony spot down by the river, surrounded by trees and with the blue glacial river water and some amazing rocky cliffs behind them. It was a truly magical place for a wedding and felt like a really private and special location for an intimate and emotional wedding. After the ceremony, guests sipped on beverages and enjoyed the views while Jenn & Myles and I had the best time dancing and strolling our way through the forest and taking photos in the gorgeous orange glow. I could have photographed these two and their love for hours while we explored the property, as I know there are tons of places up the hill, overlooking the river valley that we didn’t get time to adventure to! But we did get to take some photos on a cute swing strung up by The Crossing at Ghost River. As a Cochrane wedding venue, the Crossing also has a charming lodge at the top of the hill which has some bathrooms and getting ready areas. When I arrived the boys were playing a quick round of pool and lounging on some couches. Although Jenn & Myles hosted their reception in their backyard in Calgary (which was super charming and heartfelt), I can see how having your reception at the Crossing at Ghost River would be wonderful as well!
