Kaedon & Sheldon - Kananaskis Summer Engagement Session
I knew this was going to be a great Kananaskis engagement session the minute Kaedon & Sheldon texted me to ask if they could bring beers to shotgun. These two were naturals in front of the camera and we had a blast hanging out in the Kananaskis wilderness. Forgetmenot Pond is a beautiful location only an hour outside of Calgary. There isn’t anything better than a secluded pond in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. We even lucked out and had the place all to ourselves besides a friendly yellow lab and a family of tourists wearing fluorescent yellow raincoats. It would be an amazing spot to elope! Just saying.
We spent a couple of hours wandering around the pond taking photos while keeping our eyes on the rain clouds looming above our heads. I didn’t plan on asking Kaedon & Sheldon to get in the water but they came armed with a towel, so I couldn’t help it! I love when couples are adventurous and willing to go outside of their comfort zone for photos. If you haven’t figured it out by now, I really love incorporating water in my adventure couples sessions.
After threatening to open up on us for a couple of hours the sky decided to light itself on fire instead and we were treated to the most brilliant orange and pink sunset any photographer could have hoped for. Sometimes Mother Nature treats me really good! When I drove back to Calgary the rain started to pour and I couldn’t help but laugh because we had somehow managed to avoid the craziest weather of all. Summers are so unpredictable in Calgary so it's definitely good to have a back up plan for your wedding, FYI.
I can’t wait for the Lake House wedding of these two in October! Who knows what tricks the weather will have in store for us then!
