Tips for a Great Newborn Session

Book Early:

Ideally, you’ll want to plan your session when your baby is 5–14 days old. This window gives you the best chance to get those sleepy, snuggly moments.

Keep Things Warm:
Babies love warmth, so a toasty room and soft fabrics will help keep your little one comfortable and happy during the shoot.

Feed Before the Shoot:
A full belly equals a more relaxed baby, so try to feed them right before your session starts. Of course feeding during the shoot is also 100% welcome and we may also need to change some diapers! I love capturing these in-between moments too as they tell the authentic story of what it’s like to have a newborn during the first few months.

Relax and Let It Happen:
Every baby is different, and they might have their own pace when it comes to the session. Trust your photographer to guide the process and focus on enjoying the time with your baby. I will never make you feel bad if your baby cries, is fussy, needs to be fed or changed, etc.
