Nicque's Goddess Session - Grassi Lakes

Over the past year I've struggled with what photography means to me. I don't just want to create "pretty pictures", I want to create something with meaning. I want to create something beautiful that has potential to heal someone. I've been shooting my girlfriends in beautiful places for a while now and had started thinking that maybe I could offer sessions to empower women. Nicque couldn't have contacted me at a better time. She had been traveling the world and reached out on her way back to Calgary. When I asked her what kind of shoot she was looking for, she described exactly what I had envisioned a Goddess Session to be; a session dedicated to capturing the inner beauty that we can so easily see in others but often struggle to see in ourselves. Nicque spends a lot of time in the mountains so it only made sense to do the shoot at one of her favourite spots in Kananaskis: Grassi Lakes. We talked about life & love and embraced the elements in a big way for this shoot and I'm so excited to finally share it with you. Special thanks to Nicque for being the best first Goddess I could have possibly dreamed of.
