Half Moon Run
Once you get to know me it will become quite evident that the greatest of the loves of my life is music. The pure joy I feel when I watch someone playing the music that speaks to my heart can't be matched by anything else in this world. That sounds cheesy, but its honestly hard to even describe how it makes me feel.
Seeing Half Moon Run last night was one of those nights that was just good for the soul. The best part of watching these Montreal boys play is that they are still having so much fun doing it. The smiles on their faces were genuine and you could feel it. After struggling through darkness while writing their last album, Sun Leads Me On, they appear to have come through stronger than ever. I fell in love a little morewhen I learned that $1 from every ticket was being donated to Native Youth Sexual Health Network and Native Women in the Arts. Even though I was bummed when my favourite song wasn't played (can you guess the one?) it was still magical to hear the other 18 songs they did play, haha. I dare you to try to keep track of the number of different instruments Devon, Connor, Dylan and Isaac share the stage with, These guys are true musicians so If you get a chance to catch them play another time, make sure you do it.
